Tree removal is one of the jobs which cranes are most often relied upon for. Cranes possess the lifting strength needed to extract dead or hazardous trees from residential and commercial properties. With so many different kinds of cranes available for rental, you may be left to wonder which crane is the best fit for your tree removal project. A few different factors will determine what crane is ideal for your tree removal project in the Twin Cities area, but the following are your top options:
- Boom Trucks – Compact and maneuverable, boom trucks are perfect for completing tree removal jobs in residential neighborhoods and urban areas with little space to work in. However, boom trucks don’t have the same lifting capacity as some larger cranes and may not work for removing bigger trees.
- Spider Cranes – Like boom trucks, spider cranes can easily fit in compact spaces and, unlike boom trucks, they can be operated safely on rough terrain. On the other hand, spider cranes aren’t as maneuverable as boom trucks and may have more limited lifting capacities.
- Telescopic Cranes – With their adjustable boom length and strong lifting capacity, telescopic cranes are an excellent choice for tree removal jobs in wide open areas. However, telescopic cranes won’t work in tight spaces, so they’re not always a good fit for residential tree removal work.
- Crawler Cranes – When you need to remove a very large tree (or several of them) from an area with uneven ground, crawler cranes are your best option. These large and stable cranes have top-level lifting power, but you won’t be able to squeeze them into city streets or residential neighborhoods very easily.
